The main objective of the Act is to provide job security and service benefits to Mathadi workers. These benefits include working hours, wages, bonus, paid leave, as well as social security benefits such as provident fund, gratuity, and compensation in case of accidents.

Another objective is to ensure an adequate and regular supply of workers and proper use of their labour. For this purpose, the establishment of Mathadi Boards has been provided under the Act.
